Condition
Chiropractic for Headaches & Migraines
Tension-type and cervicogenic (neck-related) headaches are common chiropractic targets.
What to expect
Assessment of neck and posture, manual therapy, and exercises, plus lifestyle and trigger guidance.
What the evidence says
Evidence suggests manual therapy may help cervicogenic (neck-related) and tension-type headaches. Benefit for migraine is less certain. Because some techniques involve the neck, see the safety note in our neck-pain guide and discuss technique options.
Educational summary, not medical advice. Evidence evolves — discuss options with a licensed provider.
When to see a physician
Seek prompt care for a sudden severe (thunderclap) headache, headache with fever and stiff neck, headache with neurological symptoms, or new headaches after age 50.
